What is your IEP emergency?
I’m here to help you and your students thrive.
Welcome to IEP911. My name is Donna Reynolds and I am on a mission to see that every child with special needs has access to the supports necessary to succeed. I have over 30 experience working with the special needs population. First as a special education teacher working my way up to serving as a special education director. In between, I took some time off to raise my own children and that is where my advocacy business was born. What began as helping a local attorney out, grew into a passion to see that every child deserves to have an advocate on their side. My mission is threefold, 1. to create a place where parents can come to talk to an advocate, get resources, learn how to advocate for their children and find a safe place to get the help they need. 2. Train up advocates to do the work and 3. To encourage those with a heart for the special needs community to sponsor a child.

What our clients are saying
Donna was instrumental in getting our son an IEP as he was entering public school for the first time as a high school freshman. Our son was high functioning and advanced in all academics, but struggled socially and with anxiety. The school originally tried to say he didn’t qualify for an IEP because his academics were so high. Donna came in and not only got an IEP, but was able to get him support in the advanced classes. She spent countless hours on the phone with us, always patient, explaining every detail from freshman to standardized testing, including ACT and SAT, to graduation, she is the best!

My son has had and IEP since elementary school for learning disabilities and ADHD. He always got small group for math until he entered high school and the school said they don’t offer small group at that level, so they put him in co-teaching. He failed first semester. I wanted him moved back to small group and was again told that they didn’t offer that at the high school level. That is when we hired Donna. She reviewed all of his paperwork from elementary, took the data and presented to the school why small group was the most appropriate placement for our son. Amazingly, the School decided that small group was where he should be. Thanks to Donna, our son got the help he needed.

Our son was facing frequent dismissals from school due to behavioral issues, with the school claiming it wasn't suspension but for his safety and that of others. Despite having an IEP and a behavior intervention plan in place, there was little improvement. Donna from our IEP911 team recognized the need for more specific goals and tailored accommodations. By advocating for clear objectives and securing support from a paraprofessional, we saw significant progress. Donna also emphasized the importance of categorizing dismissals as suspensions to safeguard our son's rights. Thanks to Donna's expertise, our son has enjoyed a successful school year. We are immensely grateful for Donna and the team's invaluable support. MH- parent
